Chromatoid bodies (CBs) are germ cell specific RNP granules localized in the cytoplasm of spermatids. CB forms as spermatogenesis switches between the meiotic and post-meiotic phases and is involved in the regulation of the haploid male germ cell's exceptionally diverse transcriptome (27929729, 24554440).
